Oncoplasty is a relatively new technique used in breast cancer reconstruction.  This may be one of the most exciting, new developments in breast surgery.

The plastic surgeon works with the general surgeon to reshape the breast after a lumpectomy or partial mastectomy; usually utilizing one of the techniques used to reduce a breast.  They will use a Benelli, LeJour, or Weiss technique to reshape the breast.  The choice is based on how much tissue is to be removed and the size of the breast.
